If you look on TV, billboards, newspapers, etc. there are ads to fast food restaurants. Franchises spend millions of dollars on marketing for their businesses. They pull in young children to want their food by adding toys in each kids’ meal. With young children only wanting the toy, parents have no reason but to purchase their food to keep their little one happy. Even when there are important sporting and media events, fast food chains design marketing to promote their foods. Celebrities as big as Beyoncé have participated in commercials to advertise fast food. For example, Wendy’s has their special known as the 4 for $4, which is the choice of a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger or Crispy Chicken BLT, 4-piece chicken nuggets, small fry and drink. Other restaurants have similar specials such as McDonalds’ 2 for $2.50, Checker’s 4 for $3, and Krystal’s 5 for $5. Besides that, there are also value and dollar meals. With these deals, consumers are rushing to these restaurants which is are keeping these franchises thriving.
Another cause is that fast food is delicious. Teenagers and young children crave the taste of hamburgers, pizza, fries, chicken, etc. Adults tend to like the fact that the food is crispy or spicy. A fast food menu has enough items on it to satisfy any and every one that pulls up to their restaurant. With some fast food restaurants being international, they even make their diverse enough to sell in another country.
