In today’s society, both men and women are allowed to be involved in politics. For example, a woman is allowed to run for President or is allowed to be a Senator, unlike in the 1800s where women weren’t allowed to be involved at all. Political cabinets and officers were all men during the 19th century and it was absurd for a woman to think that she could be a politician. Men thought that women were too emotional to handle the stress of politics. Not only were women not allowed to be involved in politics, they were not allowed to vote. Women then went on to protest Women’s Suffrage rights in the mid-19th century and were granted the right to vote. Men also thought of women being “weak” and “unfit” to perform certain jobs or projects, eliminating them from the building or construction fields.
