My revision of “Face it, America!” that follows this cover letter reflects what I have learned in English 1021 so far. While revising this essay, I learned when to use present tense in my writing and past tense in my writing when appropriate. In this class, I have learned to use more transitions and appropriate transitions in my writing. My revision reflects this because in my second paragraph where I mention the significance of police officers, I use transition words for every new sentence that needs it.…

The topics chosen for the interview include my classmate’s hobbies, accomplishments and goals. The three English Composition 11 students I interviewed are Kevin Uribes, Jennifer Conrad and Shandi Trent.…
What new ideas I have been learning in English 111 so far is how to the use rhetorical devices more in writing my papers, and notices them as well when reading. I always know what ethos, logos, and pathos were be I never try to identify them in my papers of in articles, textual artifacts or in media. So I enjoy learning about that so far. I think the challenges I am facing in this class is how to more into depth when explaining a quote, passage, and paragraph when I find the rhetorical devices in this in why the author say what they use and use certain words as they do, I think that can help is to may identify what kind of questions I should ask myself more when I’m trying to analysis my paragraphs. I think that would help me out tremendously,…
I had to take English 1102 as a required course to obtain my degree. I was nervous about taking an online class because I had never taken one. I was behind an English class because of the way that my schedule had fallen the previous two semesters. I was advised to take the class during the summer, so that I would not get off track with my classes. My only option was to take an online class.…
Reflection The English 111 course is virtually, an opportunity to grow my creative writing skills and expand critical thinking abilities. Specifically, the focus on inquiry, content analysis, the application of various rhetoric writing strategies, the accurate development of theses and related statements, and the audience awareness are the primary components that ensure steady academic growth. In essence, the sheer focus on critical writing facilities ensure that one learns the English language from a very cognitive supported point of view. Personally, I am now at a better place when organization of thought and the subsequent presentation in all formats are concerned. It is the systematic emphasis on the key course deliverables that has seen…
The experience gained through this field experience was very positive and gratifying. The first couple of sessions were like the ground periods, I had to get familiar with Hidden Oaks Elementary School and their ESOL program as well as to meet the team of teachers and their students. I will hope to capture in this reflection the knowledge obtained, the positive aspects, and outcomes of this valuable practice. From the very beginning I felt very comfortable with both teachers and the students’.…
Over the course of this semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. This English 1010 class has really allowed me to expand my essay structure and ways of thinking. When I first started this course, I was scared and didn’t really know what to expect. I branched out to different styles and types of essays as well as incorporating outside sources into my work. When I received my first essay back with the feedback and the grade, I realized that I was not a really good writer.…
Over the course of English 102, I have developed a new set of skills and learned to become a better writer. When I first came into English 102 I struggled with many different concepts of writing. During the semester in English 102, my writing became stronger because I learned how to incorporate evidence into my argument, do more thorough research, have smoother transitions, and have more organization throughout my essay. I learned how to peer review better and to take what others say and incorporate it into my essay. In the beginning, before English 102, I struggled with good organization and flow to an essay, sandwich evidence into paragraphs, and having strong arguments in persuasive essays.…

English 1101 is a course aimed to prepare students for their future writing courses and have the necessary skills for writing college level work. Coming into this course I was hopeful that it would improve my general writing skills since throughout my secondary schooling it was acceptable but not exceptional. My current faults are hindering the comprehensiveness of my writings because readers have to sift through the damage to understand the argument and focus of the topic. While I am able to come up with content my inability to logically put it into a written form is something I intended to improve. After this course I hope to have revamped my former weaknesses so I can be a more clear and cohesive writer for the future…
Over the course of this semester in my English 1320 class I have seen a drastic change throughout my writing style. Although I still have difficulties with a few writing tasks, I believe that I have improved significantly throughout this course. I have found that with my professor’s guidance along with my own personal editing that my grades have increased. Although it is difficult to not get caught up in simply striving for a letter grade or attaining a 4.0 grade point average, I would like to believe that my main goal was different. Of course I would love to achieve those goals as well, but overall my primary goal throughout this class was to become more relaxed and comfortable in my writings, to use new strategies and proper kinds of conventions, and to truly find a way to express my passion on these papers.…
Written language is a trait known to be only possessed by mankind. Although other species may have audible forms of communication, man is able to record and document his thoughts, feelings, or events that have unfolded in a way that can be viewed multiple times without him having to use his voice over and over. Literacy is a skill that adults in the United States are expected to have; but the level of your literacy says a lot about you and can have a tremendous impact on what career you end up in. For this reason, this college English class is a requirement for all those seeking a degree. Not only did I learn how to think of subjects and topics more objectively, but I learned a multitude of different modes and strategies I can employ in my writing.…
For non-native English speakers, having to take college-level English may result in a challenge. Especially since doing compositions and writing analytically are not easy tasks. English Composition I, which is English 101, is the first English class students have to take in order to advance in their career path. In English 101, the principal objectives are to apply critical thinking, critical reading, and critical writing in order to analyze college-level texts and to start on research as I did in my last paper. Furthermore, Martha Nagel was my English 101 instructor.…
I am in Al-Faisal Academy trainee as a teacher more than administer so, I get all the teaching skills; reading, writing and listening in a good way and I like that because my hope in the future is to become English teacher. But before that I want to talk about the works in English Department Office as follow, I had the responsibility of evaluated the classrooms, the books and, the teachers of three levels 1, 2, and 3. According to the students, the results were that: 4 of the teachers are good and 2 are bad because they have a bad accent since they are from Saudi Arabia.
