Emily Dickinson is arguably the most famous American poet of the 18th century for her unorthodox writing style and metaphors. Dickinson dwelled on religious believes and death a lot in her poems, in my opinion it seems as though she wanted to die to get a view of the a world beyond the living, “I HAD been hungry all the years; My noon had come to dine; I, trembling, drew the table near And touched the curious wine”(#82 Dickinson stanza 1) she wrote. On the other hand Emily Dickinson did influence a dying art form of poetry by pioneering that lyrical and short stanza structure in her poetry, to capture that moment and paint a vivid image for the reader; to illustrate “My Life had stood – a Loaded Gun – In Corners – till a Day The Owner passed – identified – And carried Me away”(#754 Dickinson Stanza 1) , “We passed the School, where Children strove At Recess – in the Ring – We passed the Fields of Gazing Grain – We passed the Setting Sun”(#712 Dickinson Stanza 3). Which leads me to say because of her writing style Dickinson has become one of America 's finest poet that lived through her work can not be replicated or matched she seems in inspire many modern novelist to pursue writing with a style that would immerse an audience to capture the true meaning of the art
