It is not because they are incapable, it’s because the schools could care less about teaching about nutrition and that’s what causes them to be incapable of making the right decisions. The students who participated in the survey overwhelming agreed that it is not just poor people who don’t know nutrition. So, I believe to fix this problem there needs to be a class strictly about nutrition and it has to be taken every year to graduate from elementary, middle school than high school. These kids are taught so many things that they aren’t going to use outside of class but having a nutrition class at least gives them an option to choose to be healthy. Not every kid will go out of their way to learn about nutrition. My survey shows that 9 out 11 kids felt they were educated about nutrition as a kid but we also have to put into consideration that these kids go to Johnson and Wales and their majors are Culinary Arts and Baking so I assume they were knowledgeable about the differences of fruits and vegetables which impacts daily choices of what to eat because they had this unique interest at a young age. The average kid is not necessarily interested in cooking, therefore not making them aware of the differences of what vegetables and fruit
