“Give me energy, I need energy” Eddie Rivera was real big on not boring the students, so with that being said he was continuously interacting with us; making us stand up, raise our hands, and even laugh. Aside from all of the interactions made with the audience, he also had some extremely important information for us as students.

Not knowing a single word in English shows the type of man Eddie Rivera is, motivated. This mans’ motivation got him very far in life and landed him in copious amounts of jobs. With struggles, Mr. Rivera came into contact with racial discrimination and was fired from his first job solely because he was Hispanic. Eddie Rivera did not let someone else affect the way he was going to work throughout his life. This persistence is important because it gave the students a sense of relief knowing that they can be just as persistent as Eddie Rivera. Racial discrimination is still so huge in today’s society and the minorities are still terrified that they may not get jobs solely because they are not
