The world is moving towards an integrated and independent global economy. We are moving towards a world in which cross-border trade barriers and investments have started to decline, distance as perceived is reducing due to the advancement in transportation and telecommunication, material culture is beginning to look similar all over the world and also national economies are becoming interdependent, integrated global economic system. In the course of this process, there are also losers who are affected due to globalisation. These losers are those who have lost their jobs in high-cost locations. Globalisation has developed a threat for the businesses by dominating the domestic markets. Many foreign companies have entered into developing nations affecting the formerly protected industries, by increasing the competition and bringing down the prices. For example, U.S. automobile companies have been competing for almost three decades, against foreign enterprises like Japanese, European and now Korean, who have taken over the industry. The market share of the U.S. firm General Motors has declined from 50 percent to 26 percent. Currently, the Japanese automobile firm, Toyota has surpassed its competitors like Ford and GM to become the largest automobile company and the second largest producer in the world.
