POTUS From: APSNA Subject: Implementing more precautionary measures to eradicate the Ebola outbreak in West Africa Date: 09.29.14TOP SECRET
Summary The recent outbreak of Ebola is not only a concern for the citizens living in West African countries, but it also poses a threat to global health.

policy. Options Option 1:
Strengthen partnerships with international agencies to help combat EVDJoining with other nations and their organizations will be one of the most effective ways the international community can contain this virus.
It would be in Europe’s interest to help the U.S. contain EVD due to their proximity to Africa. Partnering with the European Union to help come up with containment policies would help lessen the chances of EVD making its way over more country borders. Allocating more funds to organizations that are combating/researching the disease such as the WHO and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) would help to further advance our progression against this disease.
Currently, the CDC has a single web banner reaching out to medical professionals around the country for any knowledge on containment of EVD. Although this can be useful, more outreach should be considered. Allowing and encouraging doctors and other practitioners to engage and interact in an online forum could be very useful, as well as help determine who could be a beneficial asset on containment missions.

Agency for International Development to distribute around 500,000 home safety kits to ensure safe medical practices. These kits could include latex gloves, masks, soap and disinfectants. Distributing these kits is not going to end the epidemic, but it would certainly lower the rate of spread and help save some of the dedicated members that are aiding infected friends and family. Next Steps
We are currently getting in touch with other international agencies such as the United Nations and the European Union to come up with a solution that is mutually supportive.
Our main focus at this point is to emphasize the importance of global aid to West Africa in containing this deadly virus.
I will present more elaborative options for you to consider for future U.S. policy on this pandemic. I will be hosting a Principals Committee meeting next week to further discuss our position. I will follow up with a memo for your decision. We must act quickly due to the severity of this outbreak.
