Discussion: A court will likely conclude that the condition that our client maintains on her property is a natural condition and therefore does not constitute an attractive nuisance. Under the attractive nuisance doctrine, a possessor of land is subjected to liability for physical harm to children trespassing thereon caused by an artificial condition upon the land. Norton v. Black. A possessor of land is not subjected to liability for physical harm to children trespassing thereon cause by a natural condition upon the land.…
Environmental protection agency (EPA) respond heavily to public health issue and to environmental issues. Like many agency decisions, the EPA's decision centered on cost-benefit analysis, attempting to determine the appropriate economic burden necessary to achieve an adequate level of safety, and whether this burden was reasonable (Wecker, 1994). Reserve Mining v. EPA and Corrosion Proof Fittings v. EPA cases focused mainly on regulating a use of asbestos. This essay will summarize the trail process and add a simple insight on the trail harvest for each case. This essay will also add scholars analysis discussion of trail procedure and the agency decision -making process over each case.…
I chose the Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola Florida because that is the site in which the majority of my family lives and works on. This station is home of Aviation Schools, Air Technical Training, Marine Aviation Training, and the Blue Angels. This station was placed on the National Priorities List in 1989 due to the contaminated surface and ground water, soil and sediments. This contamination dates back to before World War 2 where there weren’t any regulatory guidance on dumping waste whether it is chemical or otherwise.…
if there is any skin to acid or base contact, the body part should be washed immediately. All the solutions used in this lab should be disposed of as hazardous waste. And finally, as always proper lab attire, apron, and glasses are required once inside of the laboratory. Works Cited "Acne Medication. "…
The Fruit Avenue Plume (FAP) Superfund site (Site) is identified on the National Priorities List (NPL) as a chlorinated solvent groundwater plume, located in the downtown area of Albuquerque, New Mexico (Figure 1). The site originally consisted of a groundwater-contaminant plume, spanning multiple aquifer zones up to 544 feet deep; it was approximately 3,500 feet long and ranged in width from 550 to 1,300 feet. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a record of decision (ROD) in 2001 (EPA, 2001) directing remediation of the site via multiple remedies.…
In September, Charlie Savage, of the New York Times, wrote on the possible removal of funds from the United States Justice Department for their ligation efforts in assisting the Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.) with suing Superfund violators in court. Under the title, “E.P.A Threatens to Stop Funding Justice Department’s Environmental Work,” Savage attempts to explain the implications and reasoning behind revoking the Justice Department’s funding. According to Savage, the E.P.A. “pay[s] more than $20 million annually in recent years” to the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division (p. 1). This staggering amount provides the Justice Department with salaries for lawyers and staff who conduct court cases against and investigate companies who have refused to pay for their polluted sites.…

Hi, Kathryn, Thank you, this situation is similar to one that happened to military personnel and their families in Jacksonville, North Carolina. According to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs: "In the early 1980s at the Marine Corps Base in Lejeune, NC, it was discovered that two on-base water-supply systems were contaminated with the volatile organic compounds trichloroethylene (TCE), a metal degreaser, and perchloroethylene (PCE), a dry cleaning agent. Benzene, vinyl chloride, and other compounds were also found to be contaminating the water supply systems. The water systems were contaminated from August 1953 through December 1987".…
“Environmental impact” is a traveling exhibition that is currently on display in SUNY Potsdam’s very own Gibson galley. The exhibition uses sculptures, paintings, and photographs to explore the current issues facing our ever changing environment. While each artist uses various visual and design techniques to get their points across there are still many pieces in the gallery that share many similarities with one another. Edward Burtynsky’s photograph Highway #1, Intersection 105 & 110 made in 2003 is apart of Burtynsky’s OIL: Extraction and Refinement, Transportation and Motor Culture and The End of Oil series which showcases the life cycle of oil and its effect on our society. The photograph gives a birds eye view of a busy highway intersection.…

Over the years, the poor and people of color are always treated badly by others. They mostly lived in polluted environments which negatively affect the way they live and work. In these communities, the placement of waste facilities emitted large amounts of chemical pollutants into the air. Any individual exposed to pollutants increases the chance of getting sick because it poses a huge threat to their health. The sudden environmental changes caused by landfills and industrial plants triggered countless environmental justice movements.…
She then used paper towels to pat her hands down and then used them to mop up the remaining water around the sink. The senior dental hygiene student then returned to her cubicle and put on her Personal Protective Equipment which included her isolation gown, bonnet, facemask, and safety glasses. She again returned to the sink to rewash her hands and then put on her rubber cleaning gloves. Afterwards, she started by cleaning out her suction lines for about two minutes, and then she checked her water bottle determining she had enough for at least one patient. The senior dental hygiene student wiped down all the metal surfaces using a DisCide wipe and any equipment in her tackle box that she would be using on her patient such as the blood pressure cuff, thermometer, clipboard, and ink pen.…
