SFC Greene did everything, from preparing his uniform to marksmanship at the range, paying extremely close attention to detail. As we learned to march as a platoon, SFC Greene stressed the importance of taking pride in marching correctly. He explained marching correctly was how we, as new Soldiers, begin to learn attention to detail; that paying attention to detail would carry us further in our profession. If I expected my Soldiers to work hard and live the Army values, I had live what I demanded from them. I could never put myself in a position where my character or work ethic could be questioned by my Soldiers. I had to show them what hard work is. I had to show them my commitment to being the best Soldier I could be extended into my off time. By living the example SFC Greene showed me when I was a new Soldier, I was able to be that positive example for my Soldiers to
