Although they show many differences in size, the addax antelope shares a number of physical similarities with the dorcas gazelle. On one hand, the addax antelope is much larger, with an average weight of 220 to 330 pounds. Females are 10 to 20 percent smaller. All addaxes are approximately 37 to 45 inches at the shoulder. The dorcas gazelle, on the other hand, weighs a measly 33 to 44 pounds and is only 21 to 25 inches at the shoulder.
