While racial and religious discrimination remains to be the root of exclusion in the U.S., according to Wasem (2012) exclusions continue to increase in the world. Immigration is a concept with policies that many people do not understand thus why we have people who support people like Trump. Trump continued to inform people that he does not support immigration and when he’s tried to implement a law that bans people of entering the country the federal courts denied it, which he expressed his frustration about through his tweets. Twitter was the appropriate source especially because Trump has twitter fingers where he tweets anything and everything on his mind, no filter whatsoever. Trumps twitter account is a direct representation of him as he is behind the tweets. Twitters advanced search tool was used to collect the data. The search terms that were used were immigration, travel ban, Muslims, and country. March 1 2016 to March 1 2017 was the timeframe that was selected since March 2016 was roughly the time it became clear that Trump was the Republican nominee.
As he fully degrades minority groups, almost all his tweets declared no support to immigration and support of the travel ban.
