Figure (1) Different ways to create carbon and how it affects the environment.
Combustion (O2) is a process that involves benzene.
2 C6H6(l) + 15 O2(g) ---> 12 CO2(g) + 6 H2O(g)
Benzene is used as a fuel for cars, it has some problem with the environment. As seen in Figure (1) and the balanced equation that the process of making Benzene makes lots of carbon (gas) which damages the environment because it makes “greenhouse gases” trapped in the atmosphere, they have more time to collect heat from the sun. Therefore, makes the climate in heat which the ice caps will melt and the floods occur (global warming).
People knows what burning Benzene can cause to the environment, however they still use it …show more content…
For example, simple force of water takes a lot of energy.
When we use fuel cells, it has to require catalysts which usually have platinum which is rare to find, harm the environment and expensive.
We have a lack of techniques that can take out Hydrogen and store it efficiently.
To storage Hydrogen is really hard because Hydrogen is a low density gas.
Hydrogen catches fire, if an oxidizer like oxygen is nearby. It catches fire more easily than petrol or benzene and it could also be an explosive. so there should not be oxygen in the hydrogen tanks.
Oxygen is invisible gas, also hydrogen. Which means if it does catch fire, the flames would be almost impossible to be recognized.
Fighting fire is hard. However, hydrogen combustion is even harder to fight. Hydrogen is not a poisonous gas but if it went inside a closed car, you would not recognize and eventually die after choking because you breathed only hydrogen for a certain …show more content…
He found out that the hydrogen economy shows that the high energy losses definitely is caused by laws of physics which means that the hydrogen economy would never make sense.
We all know that hydrogen is non-toxic, burns to water, is abundant in the world. However the problem is not in Hydrogen, its the production of hydrogen depends on the water and energy. The water is recycled but the energy is rare and may become political issues, which oil and natural gas are.
In addition, the fossil fuel energy is used for transportation will have to go to hydrogen. It splits from water by electricity which means , the electric power generation capacity in the country will have to make it twice as much as for transportation. After that, it will all have to convert from fossil fuels to renewable sources. and only at that point , the carbon which comes out of transportation in general to the atmosphere will then stop.
