Ms. Galvan, has a wonderful relationship with all of her students and is always enforcing the importance of different ways they can problem solve with their partner without using their hands. Silvia and Danny are two of Ms. Galvan’s well behaved students. During journal time, Silvia and Danny were having a difficult time-sharing the crayon box, and were constantly fighting over the correct way to share the crayon box. Danny becomes extremely upset with Silvia and hits her in the shoulder.
Ms. Galvan: Danny, what happened?
Danny: She wants to keep the crayons on her side only.

Follow up (Step 6 & Step 7):
The following day, Danny and Silvia were faced with the same challenge when it came to sharing the crayon box. This time Danny used his manners to ask for his special crayon, and was more patient with Silvia.
Ms. Galvan: Hello Silvia and Danny, how are you working together during journal time?
Danny: Ok, Silvia and I are not fighting over the crayons anymore because we share. Silvia: Yeah! But sometimes I have to wait a long time for Danny to finish with the blue. That’s his favorite color.
Ms. Galvan: Silvia, I like how patient you are being, that shows me you are being a good leader. Danny I like how you are using your manners to ask Silvia for the blue. Good Job!
