When teens decide to have a relationship they don’t think about it as a side effect being depression, but it is. They point out that, “They found that adolescents who were romantically involved during the year experienced a significantly larger increase in symptoms of depression than adolescents who were romantically involved” (Lang). Teens that are in romantic relationships have a higher risk of getting symptoms of depression. There is still a risk for depression without the relationship aspect, but the risk is largely increased when in a relationship. Also, Romeo and Juliet both experience depression. Romeo states “And never from this palace of dim night / Depart again. Here, here will I remain / With worms that are thy chabermaids. Oh, here / Will I set up my everlasting rest” (Shakespeare). Romeo is saying he is going to kill himself for Juliet because she is “died”. He is willing to give his life to be with her in tomb because life without her it would be terrible and very depressing. They knew each other for a few days and they kill themselves over a relationship. Juliet has very similar experience after she wakes up and Romeo is dead (Shakespeare). Depression sets over her she has to take her life because without Romeo would be the worst possible outcome. If Romeo and Juliet had been smart and took things slow or decided to start with being friends then they would still be alive. They would have
