I am really excited to be given a chance to get the best of both worlds and it sure didn’t come easy. With ups and downs in my career, to one’s in my personal life, I have become stronger, more modest and grateful for all the second chances that life offered. I remember when I was not able to perform my best in my third and final years of dentistry due to my grandfather’s ailment and constant distractions at home, it is no excuse however being closest to medicine in the family it became more of a duty than distraction. After this I not only proved my excellence in my second attempt, but got a clearer and better conceptual understanding about the subjects. Pierre Cartier, who mentored me for our project on “Analysis of ‘Dental home linkage’ among District of Columbia Medicaid children < 3years of age that received preventive oral health care services from physician and overall utilization of preventive oral health care services stratified by age, race, ward and provider type” using SAS software. Working on this project gave me an insight about the CDT codes and the trends in fluoride application and examination in a subset of the U.S.
