To begin with, the Declaration of Independence speaks about how early America was built upon equality for all men. Within society today we see equality a lot more frequently compared to back then. It is up to the people in order to sustain their own happiness, and to pay attention to changes and alterations made within government. It is up to the people “whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends... to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.” (pg. 240 line 11-15) The people must have the power to stand up to overbearing government status and to make sure that the environment that they live in is what they want. The principles in which the people feel as though should be incorporated into their leadership, should be incorporated bottom line. That is their right. Safety and Happiness are to be protected, and valued. If they are ever being threatened or risked, then actions should take place in order to sustain them.
