Charles Dickens is considered as one of the greatest writers of all times. His great writing technique, the wise mind, and fluid language made his works survive till nowadays. His novels serve as a valuable source of that period.
He wrote more than twenty novels, and all of them are very appreciated and valued from book-lovers since the day they were written until these days and apparently there is a great chance that they will be appreciated in the same way in the future time. Oliver Twist is one of the first novels from Dickens's literary works. This novel was very successful since its first edition even though critics do not list it as one of the most valuable works of Dickens. (Chesterton, G, K. 2011) Probably the best-known of all Dickens' works, Oliver Twist was originally published in April of 1839 as a serial, and demanded to bring the public's attention to various contemporary social evils, including the workhouse, child labor and the recruitment of children as criminals. The novel is full of drama, sarcasm, and dark humor even as it reveals the hypocrisies of the time.
