In today’s music world people look at country with kind of a negative feel. One may ask why? The answer is simple, because in today’s world of country music the majority of the song lyrics are about drinking, partying, trucks, and the stereotypical country girls. To some people country music has become very objectifying of woman, but on the other hand people that support country music could pull in pop music, as well as pop culture and say the same thing. It is no longer just about the music even though some would argue that it never was “just about the music”. The whole feel of country music has changed, some for the better, some for the worst. Even the comradery between country music writers and musicians have changed over the years. In the recent years there have been heated disagreements or arguments between country music stars. Such as the one surrounding Luke Bryan, and the one with Naomi Judd, both which will be looked into later in this document. What is abnormal especially for country music is that, it is not just the really famous artist arguing, but also the ones that are just starting out. It used to be that artist would support fellow artist in their works, but now it is almost as if some of them are just trying to get a leg up. How could this even happen? Artist are down playing fellow artist and their works or they are calling them out for the so called “generalized sound, or for being too stereotypical” with the material that their songs are based off. One of the biggest arguments happened back in 2013, not to recent but it did cause some major commotion in the country music
