In Contents of a Dead Man’s Pockets we are on a ledge outside of the protagonist’s apartment on the eleventh floor of the building. The setting made us more concerned about protagonist and his decision because he was in a stressful setting. The setting makes the mood tense and stressful. The author uses the phrase “he stood on the ledge outside in the slight chill breeze eleven stories above the street,” to explain the setting. In The Trip and The Leap there are several different settings. In The Trip each of the settings set a tense mood and effects the way the characters feel and act. In the beginning when they are on the boat on the boast waiting for to reach the Spanish Coast. “The six-meter Zodiac inflatable is meant to accommodate eight people.
