Jesus Christ fulfills the Kingdom of God. My aim in this short paper is to show how Christ fulfills the Kingdom of God. In short, Jesus fulfills the Kingdom in three ways: Through God’s people, through God’s place, and through God’s rule/blessing (God 's Big Picture, Chapter 6, pp. 107–21)

The Old Testament makes promises and the New Testament fulfills the promises. For example, Isaiah promises a Messiah and the New Testament fulfills the promise in Jesus Christ. The Old Testament also promises that Jesus will be born of a virgin, which is fulfilled in the New Testament (Encountering the New Testament, Chapter 1, pp. 20-22). Both testaments point to an afterlife where those who know God will rest in Heaven, but those who don’t will face God’s judgement in Hell or the Lake of Fire (21). The Pharisees had common beliefs, particularly in theology, that united them. The Pharisees based their doctrine not only on the Old Testament but also on their own oral traditions (Encountering the New Testament, Chapter 2, pg. 57). The Pharisees, “...believe in God, angels, spirits, providence, prayer, the necessity of faith and good works, the last judgment, a coming Messiah, and the immortality of the soul (57). The Pharisees accepted the theology of grace but their legalistic practices seemed to contradict what they claimed about grace (57).
Also, the Pharisees didn’t particularly like Jesus because they felt that he went too easy on “sinners”.
