Animals are more humanlike than you think! Animals have many humanlike emotions and behaviors, but this can scare people or “blind” them. When it should boost conservation attitudes. Many studies have been done on anthropomorphic or human-like responses from animals, and most of those studies came out to the same conclusion. Animals actually have all the emotions as humans do, they just don't always show them in the same ways humans normally do.
Animals have all the primary and learned emotions but do not always express them in the same way as humans do. Animals experience pain, but that does not mean they all show it in the same way. For example, a fish will express grief/sadness by …show more content…
Primary emotions are emotions that are expressed by all cultures and they are anger, sadness, happiness, surprise, disgust, and fear. Learned emotions are emotions that are not expressed in the same way by all people. Some examples of learned emotions are love, guilt, and shame these emotions are all expressed in different ways by different cultures/people. Many people say love is a primary emotion, but it is not because it is not expressed in the same way by all people (“Darwin and Derrida on Human and Animal Emotions”). Now we can compare how to close animals are to humans. Humans and animals have all the emotions as each other but do not express them the same. Animals can grief, love, be happy, be sad, be angry everything, they just don't show them the same. For example, some birds sing to attract a mate. But humans would ask someone out on a date or flirt with them. But animals do have some behaviors that humans do not, and humans have some behaviors that animals do not have. Some examples of some behaviors that an animal has and humans also have is the use of tools by the chimpanzee. Another example of a chimpanzee using a tool is that they use a stick to put in ant hills and when the ants get on the stick they pull it out and eat the ants. Just like a human using a fork to grab his or her food(“Animal Behaviors”). An example of a behavior a human has but animals do not is that humans go to the bathroom in toilets and do their business in bathrooms, and animals (unless trained) do their business anywhere they do not care. Also many animals have very similar DNA to us. For example the chimpanzee shares somewhere between 98.6% - 99% of our DNA. Also female chimps also share a reproductive cycle similar to that of a human's. Another animal is a Gorilla, we share 98% of our genetic sequence with Gorillas. Plus scientists believe that the Gorilla use to be a common ancestor to the Human 10 million
