There is a very big difference in how those two sentences are structured. Even though example one was modern for 1666, compared to the 2016 version it just seems old and something that wouldn’t even cross our mind while we are writing. A third major change in literature is faith and religion. Back in 1666 it seemed as if the writing revolved around God and other high spiritual aspects. In Anne Bradford’s poem she repeats multiple times on how since her house is burning down, all of her faith is being put in God. The last line of the poem is:
“My hope and treasure lies above.”
As you can see, she has completely put all of her trust in God after the terrible incident. But most any literature today is based off of many different subjects, not just religious.
