The current study that was used a pre-specified exploratory objective of the Community-Acquired Pneumonia immunization Trial in Adults in which 84,496 community-dwelling individuals of 65 years and older were randomly assigned to receive PCV13 or placebo vaccination. After receiving PCV13 or placebo, participant who had any suspicisions of pneumonia were evaluated with a serious of test if they were present with any of the 12 human viruses.
