2 When I pour the oil in the water I noticed the oil started to bubble to the top. So I got to stir the oil that’s when there were smaller bubbles. As I smell the water there was no smell to the water.
3 Pouring the vinegar in the water there was one change that I notice the water was darker after I added the vinegar. There was no smell even though I added to the water.
4 When I added the detergent to the water it started to look cloudy and there was bubbles.
5 I notice the water turn brown and it look like flakes on the top. This smelling like the potting soil.

Using at least one scholarly source; discuss the potential effect of each contaminant (oil, vinegar, and detergent) on the town’s water source and the people who drank the water.
Answer = I believe if someone drinks this contemned water they will get sick, but if a woman that is going to have a baby it can cause problems for the pregnancy.
6. Describe what type of human activity would cause contaminants like oil, acid, and detergents to flow into the water supply. Additionally, what other items within your house do you believe could contaminate the water supply if you were to dump them onto the ground?
Answer = Everyday a person is throwing away oil and any acid and don’t understand what they are doing to the earth. And after someone throws away their dirty mop bucket water in their front yard, it can lead to potential water.
Experiment 2: Water Treatment
POST LAB QUESTIONS
1. Develop a hypothesis on the ability of your filtration technique to remove contaminants.
Hypothesis = For this dirty water can be treated it will then be clean and drinkable …show more content…
Develop a hypothesis on which water source you believe will contain the most and least chemical components.
Hypothesis = If all three types of water are tested, tap water will come back to be the dirtiest water and Fiji Water will come back to be the cleanest water type.
2. Based on the results of your experiment, would you reject or accept the hypothesis that you produced in question 1? Explain how you determined this.
Accept/reject = As for the three types of water that was tested, tab water will come back to be the dirtiest water and the Fiji water will come back to be the cleanest. AS for my Hypothesis that came back was wrong because the Fiji water came back with the most chemicals and the tab water became the cleanest
3. Based on the results of your experiment, what major differences, if any, do you notice between the Dasani, Fiji, and tap water?
Answer = The one think that was difference was the tab water came back to soft and the other two was hard. For the tab water it was lower in chemicals as the bottled water.
4. Based on your results, do you believe that bottled water is worth the price? Why or why
