As I have mentioned before there are two main challenges to food security: poverty and climate.
Firstly, it is essential to discuss poverty. Inadequate income is often thought to be the cause of people’s lacking in sufficient food supply (Berardi, G, 1985). The problem appears that most people cannot guarantee that their income will be enough to afford food. Therefore, poverty is related with famine.
In this case, poverty and hunger are in direct correlation (Berardi, G, 1985). Generally, poor people’s ability to pay for food is limited. Especially, in many developing countries. Where poor people are found in countryside and urban area. For instance, many of the poor in South Asia are landless or farm workers, who …show more content…
“Organic” can be synonymous with “Sustainable”, this could to be the most sustainable way for agricultural development, is organic farming (UNCTAD, 2008). Organic agriculture as the “Green Revolution” is a sustainable and environmentally friendly production system that offers developing countries a wide range of economic, environmental, and social (Northbourne; 1940). Because farmers gain more products by increasing the quantity of food produced per farm, then farmers can sell more production to earn more money (UNCTAD, 2008). This means that farmers gain higher incomes so their purchasing power will increase as well (Gibbon and Bolwig, n.d.). But, these seem not to be the best solution to end famine in developing …show more content…
It has focused only on agricultural process to find the appropriate practice for developing countries in contemporary world. Improving agricultural process would be a useful tool to research farmers’ condition in poor countries in order to implement the most beneficial food policy in developing countries. Furthermore, poverty and climate change has been placed on challenges of food security in developing countries. These have been two main factors that influenced lack access of food and famine. A large numbers of researchers suggested that Organic food tend to provide only economic benefits to farmer. The best solution to ensure food security in developing countries appears to be Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) because plants had been made weatherproof, grow more strongly in a variety of conditions In the same way, these could make it possible for poor people to access food by preventing variation of food prices. Therefore developing countries would not be threatened by famine and food
