By not having stances on certain issues, it can be hard for a person to make decisions on certain issues. The constant doubt in their minds will make it hard for them to make decisions in life as they will constantly be second guessing themselves and wondering if the decision that they made was the correct one. This lack of certainty in their minds prevents them from making decisions and having stances on issues, which prevents them from being productive and advocating for issues that they believe in.
The best thought process is one which combines a balance of certainty and doubt. While doubt can be an important prompt for people to question facts that they are given and can inspire the quest for knowledge and learning, a certain level of certainty is necessary for decision making and for the ability to persist when trying to achieve a goal. When someone has the conviction that a goal can be achieved, they are going to try their best to solve the problem.
