One of the strength is that compared to Biomedical model, it is more holistic since it takes psychological and social factor into account and explains that illness has many cause (Engel, 1977). Since this model considers 3 different factor, it means that the care provided is unique to each service user and moves away from the excessive use of drugs, surgery and utilization of diagnostic tool. One of the weakness of BPS model is that it gives us freedom but fails to give us guidance (Ghamei, 2011). Both psychology and Social factor of the BPS model has many different interpretation and can be stretched in any direction but gives no specific guidance to anything. So in practice, the use of BPS model vary depending on the practitioner. The BPS model encourages the different combination of treatment for better service but in some case, the combination of treatment is unnecessary and can be costly and wasteful (Ghamei, 2011). The BPS model is a poor teaching tool for student and resident as it considers 3 different factors and it often lead to individual thinking that they must know everything which means that some of the factors are weakly explored and tend to fall back on one factor or none of them being explored in depth (Ghamei,
