My overview of my career in Healthcare Administration starts with it being one of the most often-overlooked job at times. Most people think of doctors, nurses, and surgeons when they come to a hospital, but behind the scenes it is managers and directors keeping the hospital working and flowing as it should, keeping it profitable and up to date on policies. This is also a career that has one of the strongest growth outlooks in the next ten years. The reasons being aging population and the demands on healthcare that this causes. With this growth, there will be a demand on more administrators to help run physician offices and hospitals, but this growth does not just include administrators, it involves home health aides, sonographers and therapists.
