I utilized the sine value of the angle determined by the path of travel of Vehicle 1 versus the angle of approach at measured distances during the rotation. In conjunction with the standard speed loss equation, the sine value is applied to the coefficient of friction value. The coefficient of friction value of .750 for the asphalt roadway I utilized, was based on skid testing conducted at the crash scene by Detective Carter # 181968. The result based on this analysis is a speed loss of approximately 23.82 miles per hour during…
Arguably, the construction of the Cariboo Wagon Road excelled in the development of the Cariboo Gold Rush and British Columbia provincially for a plethora of reasons. Incidentally, the goldfields were difficult to approach due to the lack of convenient routes for miners, as generally the trails available were unmaintainable. Consequently, a better route by necessity was a requirement. Eventually, the construction of the Cariboo Wagon Road began, giving ease of access to miners, in addition to effective government presence. Afterward, the development of British Columbia was affected as a route among newly laid towns allowed for easy transportation, but would negatively lead British Columbia into debt.…
The first location that will be observed is Indian Trace Elementary School, which is located on one of the busiest main streets situated in the heart of Weston, which causes traffic in the area to be severe. On the other hand, the second Country Isles Elementary School, location is quite calmer than Indian Trace Elementary School. Due to not having a high influx of cars, the traffic is quite moderate. To accurately observe the drivers speed, a camera was placed in the middle of the school zone to record the traffic. Along with that, field notes will be taken to write notes on not only the driver’s speed but also characteristics at the school zone that might have affected driver’s speed.…
The faster a car goes, the stronger the wind will get. Wind speed helps aerodynamics a lot. A car traveling 150 miles per hour, the wind speed will be very high. That tells there is a lot of air on the car, which means the car has to have aerodynamics for wind speed to work, or else it will slow down real fast. This data will help show where wind speed helps the car go faster.…
Freeway 41, also called SR 41 (which means it is a state route) was constructed in 1933, and was established the state sign route system in 1934. The freeway is approximately 185.6 miles long and starts off by branching off of highway 1 at Murro Bay, from there it heads inland. On route it passes by other freeways and highways, at one point even intermixing with another freeway for a time. it passes through Fresno and enteres Yosemite national park, not stopping till it reaches wowana.…
History and Styles of 1920’s Cars Automobiles began development before the 1920s, and when they were mass produced they became affordable luxuries that every American sought. These first publically available cars were always being tweaked to break new speed records. Automobiles changed the lives of all Americans and revolutionized the transportation industry. Automobiles changed the economy. They opened up new organizations to take care of the becoming demand for vehicles.…
I found the idea for this experiment on Science Buddies and many people have done the same experiment. Each has made different cars that they think will be the fastest or go the longest distance. Others have tested this experiment, but they put a weight such as pennies, marbles, etc. What I am planning to do is make a very lightweight car that can travel a longer distance. The energy that the balloon will force out is called kinetic energy.…
The car has to be designed so that damage will be minimal Safety in race cars consists of optimizing the chassis and bodywork to provide maximum support for normal driving situations, and maximum protection and energy absorption in crash situations. To increase velocity of acceleration I would change the cars bodywork. I would make the car as light as possible. Aerodynamics is very important. I would optimize air flow too make it as fast as possible.…
Trains are very nice way of transportation and can also be a safe way of transportation, that's if we follow the rules. Waiting for a train to pass by may take just a minute or two. If we are so impatient just to cross the railroad while a train is coming that is just pure ignorance. Why would we cross a railroad while a train is coming just to save a few minutes when you are also risking your own life, all just for a few minutes. When the signs that a train is coming and the railroad barricades go down we shouldn't just walk under them to proceed.…
In order to train a horse to race barrels, there are several different parts which have to happen in order to get the horse prepared to do this activity: be physically fit, understand the queues or commands, have a basic understanding of the pattern to be ran and have a reward system in place to allow the horse to succeed and win the race. By accomplishing these tasks, it will allow the rider to win the contest and give the horse a since of accomplishment. Racing barrels is a physically demanding sport. It requires the horse to be in good physical shape and be able to withstand running at it's fastest speed for several minutes. This requires the rider/trainer to condition the horse for running.…
I think that the most advanced form of technology “railcar” surprised me the most. This technology become successful because of the invention of railroad and the building of the Erie Canal. This increase the runway growth of Chicago would never be possible without the chemical properties of water. If the chemical properties of liquid water changes, life on earth might be in different shape. Our lives can have big differences.…
These three factors can also be easily related to as consequences if speeding has a negative effect, such as an accident. Important to note is after I complete my observation, and implement my plan with operant conditioning and the Transtheoretical Model (TTM), I will analyze the data and explain what behavioral modifications…
Michelle is a single mother who has been through a lot. She worked for the Yavapai Regional Medical Center for over 10 years, and only left to help her husband persue his life long dream of opening a permenent cosmetic salon. She invested her entire savings into his business only to find out that he was having affairs and doing horrible things behind her back. Michelle's life fell apart, she lost everything but thanks to counciling she has managed to retain her sanity. She is trying to get back on her feet and get a job that will suport her and her two children but due to her vehicle breaking down while working for Cobham Aerospace, she has lost her job.…
I learnt to be dedicative through running when no one else would. When my parents had to focus on serious family problems, it was then I began to do poor academically. My parents didn’t care about how I did in school, so why should I care was how I truly felt. In my four years of high school my mentality would have been the same, had I not joined my schools Track and Field team. My first year of doing Track & Field I was not motivated to do good in the sport.…
Newton’s three laws are important in car safety. When a car crashes, the passengers and the car it self, slow down quickly, which causes harm to the passengers. A car crash comes with an immense force, because of the quick stop. Newer cars have safety features that soak up the kinetic energy in collisions, which are; seat belts, air bags and crumple zones. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion.…
