The reason I choose this Brian’s Hunt book is because of the illustration and the cover is relatively interesting to me. The book is authored by Gary Paulsen and published in 2003. As the main character, Brian Robeson had a plane accident when he was 14 years old. After two years, he doesn’t want to live in a busy city, but he wants to live in the wilderness of Canada, where it had so many trees and wild animals with an adventurous life.
At the age of 16, Brian wanted to live alone on the island. He loved to go fishing and hunting. The cave became his house, where he used to sleep. This is all he needed and it made him happy. I am so proud of Brian because he taught me how to be kinder and always ready to help people that we don't even need to know them very well. I really enjoyed reading this book, it makes me remember the first time when I came here to the United States; I loved this country. I want to live here so much because it is much better than my home country. I can do whatever I want and nobody cares. I recommend this book to my friends and they said, “This book is such as an awesome adventure story and it’s hard for me to stop reading because I want to know what is going to happen next.” While reading, I always asked myself what, when, which, where and why? So it helps me understand are more clearly as this vocabulary that I didn't know what whimpering is meant, so I need to translate to Vietnamese and then I can learn a new word. During reading the book I also used highlighters with different colors to highlight and take notes. I can’t remember every detail in the book, so if I forget any important details; I just have to open my notes out or check the highlighted information and then find the information I needed for my essay. I think note-taking is really helping in summarizing a
