This would include all decision-making and in creating an acceptable learning environment. Helping students to feel safe and supported allows them to believe their potential for success (Gorton & Alston, 2012). Welcoming their diversity by showing them how their talents and learning styles are beneficial can aid in accomplishing intended learning goals.
Ultimately, the importance of attaining an understanding of the organizational culture of the school is key in merging my values and beliefs with the track of the school. “An organization’s culture is not a static entity, however, but is constantly changing and evolving“ (Gorton & Alston, 2012, p. 169). My purpose as an administrator is to make sure the school is developing in a progressive direction where I lead by example and students are at the forefront.

As an administrator, my decisions would focus on what meets the needs of the students and their families we serve. As a team leader, building strong relationships and trust with all stakeholders will ensure confidence in my decision-making. Frequency of interactions between staff members, students, parents, and the community will generate a positive school climate under my leadership. “Learning cannot take place inside of chaos. A positive school climate is the foundation for collaborative systems that support all students” (Robinette, 2016, p. 20).
