He lastly explains that he’s already gone through so much pain, he just doesn’t even think about his mother or father anymore. Secondly, in “The Boys in the Boat” it shows resilience by overcoming struggles/tragedies when Joe Rantz was young, he had a tough time between losing his mother and all the chaos he went through. I was his sole support.” This quote from the book has the idea of Wiesel losing faith because of his father so weak and frail and the idea of losing his life, and Elie rejecting to leave him alone in this condition.
