In April 15, 2013 around 2:50 PM, two bomb went off near the finish line of Boston Marathon, causing the dead of three spectators and 260 others were injured. These attack create a panic not only to Boston, but also the whole nation. According to the FBI that responsable of this terrorist attack were a 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his brother 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Based on a case study on unconstrained facial recognition using the Boston Marathon bombings suspects, “the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took the lead, and initial forensic evidence indicated the explosive device was a pressure cooker packed with fragments of BBs and nails, possibly concealed in a dark-colored nylon backpack.” (Klontz & Jain, 2013) In these attack the FBI used eyewitness videos, photos and evidence to identify the suspects. After the suspects were identify their photos and videos were published in the news and social media. After their photos were released to the public their aunt make the call to the FBI. In the attack social media plays an important role. Because the photos and videos of the suspects were released to the social media both suspects were identified hours after the attack. One of the most social media use at the time of Boston Marathon bombing was twitter.
