Shaping emotional tenor is the way my scenes music is to be understood. The music is a high tempo orchestra piece with string instruments play feverishly and frantic. The entire chase scene has the tempo set very high and the music is fast lending itself to the frantic chase that is happening on the screen. The music takes a slight tempo break leading to the belief that the heroes just escaped. Then the tempo picks back up and the bicycles are being chased again the strings start the feverish playing and amp up the tempo and dreadful mood. Then in the final chase scene the cars are in front and behind and all seems to be lost, Then when E.T. levitates the heroes to the sky over their pursuers and captures the music plays a calm and magnificent melody ensuring all the movie goers that the chase has ended and the triumphant heroes had foiled the FBI plans on the alien abduction. In conclusion music can and usually does play a big part in movie atmosphere and intensity.
