Levers must have 3 things; a pivot point, a weight to be moved and a source of force or energy. In a volleyball serve, you use all of these things. The pivot point is your initial steps and rotation of your body, the ball is the weight to be moved and your momentum/force is the source of energy. The professional does all of things every time with extreme accuracy. Whereas I need to improve on all of these things including accuracy.
After analysing myself and the professional, I can now see what my strengths and weaknesses are and also what I need to improve on. Although I could still improve, my strengths are the preparation, ball toss and follow through. Where my weaknesses is everything in-between. To improve my performance, I have come up with a drill that will help improve my accuracy, force and hopefully my swing technique. To start the drill face a wall with approx. 3 metres distance in between. Find a spot on the wall and serve with correct technique and aim for that spot. However, the ball must return back to you by rebounding off the wall. If you do not do apply enough force, the ball will not rebound back to you. If everything is done correcly and is done repetitively, overtime your serve will be accurate and forceful while having the correct technique to avoid
