To have a liberal arts education in today’s society brings a major advantage in many aspects of life. Not only is the liberal arts teachings one of the oldest forms in American history, but it is established in many of the greater distinguished universities in the country. Liberal arts education poses a great chance to learn how to think, instead of what to think. It basis its teachings on the thoughts of Plato, Augustine, and many other great philosophers which helps students train themselves on many different views of life to help them grow in wisdom and faith. One major teaching of the liberal arts is history. History plays a big role in liberal arts because it teaches the student what NOT to do. Through the use of American history to teach students what Not to do, the basis of Universities in America through Liberal Arts, and knowledge of schools who do not depend on the liberal arts, a student can further their learnings in the Liberal Arts system.

Without liberal arts, people won’t have the same values. Technical schools only focus on ideal qualities to give the student an advantage in the business world. They teach the student, but the students doesn’t learn how to think. The students’ knowledge is only limited to what they learned at the school, forcing them to become institutionalized.The liberal arts students is well rounded, they are ready for the workforce because they are instilled within them the old society’s moral ethics.
