A stirrup ankle brace is a device used to keep an injured ankle still so it can heal. It is made of stiff pieces that fit under the arch and go up the side of the leg.
A stirrup ankle brace may be put on after:
An ankle strain.
An ankle sprain.
A bone in the ankle broke, and the cast around it is removed.
HOW IS A STIRRUP ANKLE BRACE USED?
Wear this brace at all times or as told by your health care provider. This brace can be comfortably worn inside most athletic shoes.
WHAT IF I FEEL PAIN OR DISCOMFORT?
If the brace feels too tight, you should be able to easily adjust it to make it more comfortable.
