To get an early start in preparing for my future, I am currently taking anatomy and physiology as a high school class. Doing this, allows me to learn about the body and all of its functions. This class is an eye opening opportunity for me, as I am able to explore and learn about the muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, etc. that I could potentially be working with in the future. Now the question stands, how have these sports helped me prepare to become a therapist? Surprisingly, playing all these sports have exposed me to many different injuries that a therapist might have to deal with. Such injuries have been; a Tommy John Surgery, torn ACL’s, torn meniscus, severely sprained ankles, dislocating of a collarbone, and a torn labrum. Throughout all of these injuries, I have got the chance to see and speak to the individuals about the type of therapy exercises that they were required to do.
