As discussed in chapter 2 and 3, this research has found the challenges that both Bali and Da Nang been facing as the consequences of developing their tourism industry since the beginning. Based on that, this section will examine the key points that both Bali and Da Nang could learn from each other, so that they can possibly manage their tourism industry better in the future as well as reducing the risks of it.
4.1 Solving the practice of corruption
Corruption has become one of the factors that has been negatively impact the growth of both the Balinese and Da Nang’s tourism industry. The more the practice of corruption happened, the more loss of profit that both Bali and Da Nang could face from their tourism industry, which later on can also affect the growth of the Indonesian and Vietnamese economy. In fact, due to the high practice of corruption, Indonesia ranked in 90 and Viet Nam ranked in 113 out of 196 countries in the world by 2016 (See Fig. 6).
