Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) is one of the largest hospital located in Auckland city. It has a 1,021 general beds, 144 mental health beds, 113 intensive care and high dependency beds and 28 rehabilitation beds located in the Grafton Street. It is considered to be the largest clinical research centre in New Zealand (Auckland District Health Board, 2014).
Its physical structure and facilities of the hospital is highly accessible to all New Zealanders, permanent residents and guests. ADHB can manage the budget of around one billion dollars per annum and the hospital is considered to be the largest training facility for doctors in New Zealand, where it contains 1,477 medical staff. ADHB contains the 11 members as the board members where Lester Levy is the chair person and Lee Mathias as the deputy chair person. Some of the departments that are present in ADHB are medical treatments, Intensive Care Unit, General medicine, Nutrition, Physiology, Social and common health, Student Centre, Emergency, etc. These are some of the departments help the patients in treating them in right way in the right time (Auckland District Health Board, 2014).

In Auckland District Health Board (ADHB), health care institutions are using the Australasian Triage scale in determining the urgency of patient’s condition. The five process maps are used to illustrate the workflow upon patient’s arrival, management of chief complaints and handover, if possible until they are discharged or sent home.
