Artemis Fowl is the main character in the book Artemis Fowl the Graphic Novel by Eoin Colfer. He is a teenage criminal mastermind so he is very smart. He wants money and doesn’t care how he gets it and he shows this by kidnapping a fairy, Holly Short, to ransom her for money. He cares for his friends and family but no to anyone else, since his father disappeared when he was quite young, he is very independent.
What is the character’s importance to the story?
The character is important to the story as he is the main character and the story revolves around him. The story tells how he has a plan to kidnap a fairy, an elusive species that no one is supposed to know about, and ransom it for a one tonne of pure gold. The story tells us how he discovered the existence of fairies and how no one knows about them, because the fairies wipe the memories of anyone who has ever seen them. …show more content…
This character develops over the course of the story as when he receives the gold from the ransom he goes and spends half of it on curing his mum, which is sick and felling unwell, and on a search party for his dad who is missing and is presumed dead by the government. This shows that Artemis Fowl understands the importance of family and that he isn’t selfish when it comes to family.
