You gave us a quote “If the one is the one simply then it is not”, and that made me even more confused because at the time it made no sense to me and the whole the “One” in general for me was very confusing. But after going over it a few times in class, I started understanding it. Our goal as humans is to get to the “One” but as you said in class that is not a journey for the feet. I completely agree with that. Looking at the diagram the “One” is on the top and below that is Nous (Intellect) and below that is “all soul” and below that is “your soul” finally below that is “matter”. Many people see matter as evil and selfishness. I believe that’s truth because, matter is considered to be earth and that is a main part of Earth. There is much evil here on Earth and also much selfishness. The “One” is simple (no predicates), the “One” is pure goodness, the “One” is pure power and also that the “One” is the source of all things. When he says the “One” is the source of all things, he is saying that it is not a physical thing but that it is the source of all physical things and things that aren’t physical. The “One” is thought to be above existence and the “One” is not God. So after trying to comprehend everything about the “One”, I start assuming that the “One” could be heaven. The reason being is because, our goal as humans is to get to the “One” and the one is above everything else and going back to what you said before in class “This is not a journey for the feet”. I’m assuming the way you get to the “One” is by your soul, and currently we aren’t able to send our soul out of our bodies, but what is believed by many religions is that the soul will leave the body when one dies and then depending on how one lived there life they will either go to heaven or hell. So I believe that there is a correlation between the “One” and religion meaning that there is a possibility that the “One” is heaven. After
