Hades always wanted ultimate power, but when he was confined to the underworld he decided to shut himself out and never came up to Olympus. He is usually depicted as terribly moody, but not evil. He even stole Persephone from Earth to be the Queen to his kingdom. He is perceived as one who has no soul, but cares about his kingdom.
