The research question we are exploring for our experiment is comparing our two environments: West Central stairwell and East Central stairwell in Holmes Hall, and which environment will contain a higher amount of bacteria. To do so, six samples from each environment were collected and further testing will be done to explore the statistical significance and the type of bacteria. We hypothesize that there will be a higher amount of bacteria present in the West Central stairwell because there is a greater amount of foot traffic in that stairwell then there is in the East Central stairwell.
