Anti-gang (criminal conspiracy) legislation is an attempt to eliminate the criminal society off the local streets which causes danger to the community. The federal government passed an anti-gang legislations called Bill C-95, any or all of members of a gang which engage in or have, within the preceding 5 years, engaged in the commissions of a series of such offences (Goff, 2014, pg. 62) in 1997. If the crime is beyond extent and the individual being guilty of the crime, the punishment is strived to proceed with tougher penalties. In a situation, of two individuals committing the exact criminal offence, under the anti-gang legislation the one allied with the criminal organization can receiver a punishment up to fourteen years in prison whereas the other individual obtains a sentence of only five years in prison.
