While pets make valuable companions in the household environment, no one truly knows what a pet goes through. While a lot of pet owners do treat their pets with respect, there are others who don’t. In fact, they end up harming their pets and hurting them for no logical reason. We feel guilt, and that we need to do something in response or at least sympathize with what the advertisement has to show. As soon as that text fades off the screen, we are led to some clips of dogs and cats that are frowning and displaying sad vibes. At this point in the advertisement, we understand where the general message of the advertisement is headed. From start to finish, the people behind the advertisement are effectively utilizing and capitalizing on the element of pathos. This advertisement continues to channel our feelings consistently as it repeats the process of text followed by small clips of dogs and cats. They do implement some Ethos as well by bringing in Sarah Mclachlan, a famous individual, to endorse the organization and assist promoting good care for pets rather than abuse(BC SPCA). They also provide incentives such as items if you give a call to them and support an abused animal or just BC SPCA
