Whenever Mayella asked for help, Tom Robinson was always willing to do so. Why would Mayella always ask Tom to help? Mayella was so emotionally broken down from her fathers abuse and didn't understand what it felt like to love someone. Tom, who was African American, and Mayella, who was white, may have given Mayella the idea that she had complete control over actions done between both her and Tom. Tom brought no harm, went inside Meyellas' house because she claimed something needed fixing. That was when Mayella then moved towards Tom for a kiss and Tom showed no affection back. Tom did nothing further and showed no disrespect towards Mayella besides the fact that he did not want any relations with her. Tom walked both to and from work every day, supporting his family. He would not do anything to jeopardize his work or the money his family was living off. Racism was brought against Tom which showed him no support. He only tried to escape prison because that was not the way he wanted to die. The action of Tom doing so only made the whites disbelieve him even more. The personality in each individual is displayed with a different attitude involving other people. In all circumstances Atticus Finch, Tom Robinson, and Boo Radley greatly display a mockingbird. Atticus Finch keeps a calm attitude when being involved in a situation that needs control. Tom Robinson doesn't falsely accuse Mayella of anything and swears to tell nothing but the truth. Boo Radley mainly keeps to himself but is willing to demolish a life of one doing wrong, only to save the life of one doing right.
