Due to high rates of immigration from other parts of the world, Sweden has become highly, culturally diverse. For example, it is estimated that 11 percent of Sweden’s population today was born outside the country. The 1982 Health and Medical Services Act incorporated equal access to services on the basis of need (WGBH educational foundation, 2008, para. 3), and emphasizes a vision of equal health for all no matter what background a patient has. It is vital that all healthcare workers can work with diversity. Diversity in the healthcare system alone can be one of the biggest concerns we have today in the world as a whole.
