well it all started on a beautiful winter day in Kabul. Amir was a jealous kid that wanted to make his father proud. The reason that he was jealous was because of Hassan, who was hired by Amir’s father as a servant. Hassan was a very uneducated kid who was absolutely brilliant at Kite running. Kite running was one of afghans national sports in the 70’s. Hassan was undoubtedly the best kite runner in Kabul. Hassan’s kite running brilliance made Baba proud and made others such as Amir undoubtedly jealous, This was not enough to make Amir hate Hassan though, as both of them were really good friends with one-another. This coincidentally changed one day when Amir won his first kite running competition. Amir’s loyal friend Hassan went to do what he does best which was running down Amir’s championship kite. This was when he was approached in an alley by a Pashtun guy named Assef. Assef was an extremely biased person who would do anything to oppress a Hazara. In this scenario the Hazara was Hassan who was brutely rapped by Assef. Amir who watched this all happen had one of two choices, which was to watch Hassan get rapped or step in and prevent it from happening. His unfortunate chice was to watch Hassan get rapped. This decision made by Amir corrupted he and Hassan’s relationship, and led to the eventual move of Hassan. This would be the last time Amir and Hassan ever seen each other
